Greetings, all!
Sam here!
First of all, here is a big announcement:

Ranita is already busy helping Tim with pending event planning, assisting at the EMA with tasks, and working with ARES and LOARC! If you have any questions for Ranita, send them in or visit us during one of our monthly meetings on the first Tuesday of each month at 6 pm at the Camden County EMA at 12 VFW Rd, Camdenton, MO 65020!
Next, we are ramping up for our summer season and one of the new features for the CERT members is the CERT Bulletin Board. This is both digital (located here) and has a physical representation at the Camden County EMA! It not only contains information on upcoming events, but also has tons of things from the EMA’s to-do list which they could use some extra hands on during the week! If you have some spare time and want to help Rod and Sam, please check out the task list and head on in to the EMA!
Finally, we are getting ready to start scheduling CERT training classes again! Not only do we need volunteers to help set up the physical training aspects of the class, but we need your contacts to continue with the “word-of-mouth” grass roots advertising of the program! We have two options for training classes: the traditional Basic CERT 20-hour training which is done two nights per week, two-three hours per night, for five weeks or (for potential members who have first responder/medical/military backgrounds) the “Accelerated” Basic CERT training, which is done over two day, with 12 hours scheduled each day. The longer time period is to accommodate taking breaks for meals over both days. If you know anyone interested in CERT training, please have them contact CERT Coordinator Tim George at cbrntg1@gmail.com to discuss options!
BONUS ROUND: The Camden County EMA is building a Volunteer Awards Program! Assistant Coordinator Ranita Jones is hard at work with Camden County EMA Deputy Director Sam Henley to build a fantastic program for the volunteers of our CERT! Stay tuned for updates on this from the EMA!
